A 60-second ticket chooser
Choose the Standard ticket if your plan is one timed Colosseum visit and one Forum-Palatine archaeological-area visit within the official validity window. It was €18 when checked August 25, 2026. Treat that price as date-specific, not permanent.
Choose a Full Experience product if its listed inclusions match your priorities or if a two-consecutive-day validity period is useful. Full Experience inclusions vary, so read the individual product rather than assuming that every version includes the same spaces.
Choose an Arena, Underground, or Attic option only when the current product description explicitly includes the area you want. These labels should not be treated as interchangeable with the Standard ticket.
Choose Forum Pass SUPER for eligible Forum-Palatine and SUPER-site access when the Colosseum is not part of your plan. Forum Pass SUPER excludes the Colosseum.
How the one-entry rule affects your plan
The Standard ticket provides one timed Colosseum entry and one Forum-Palatine archaeological-area entry in the official validity window. Plan the three main sites as a connected visit rather than assuming that you can leave and re-enter the archaeological area later.
The Roman Forum and Palatine Hill are covered by eligible Forum-Palatine admission, and the two are best combined without leaving the archaeological area. Your ticket determines the gate to use, so follow the entry instructions on the current booking.
Full Experience products are valid on two consecutive days, but their inclusions vary. Do not transfer the Standard ticket’s exact assumptions to another product without checking its listing.
Best route: morning or afternoon Colosseum
For a morning Colosseum time, start at the Colosseum, then continue to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill while your archaeological-area entry fits the ticket’s official validity window. Allow 75–90 minutes for the Colosseum and 90–150 minutes for the Forum and Palatine together. The route includes uneven paving and steep sections.
For an afternoon Colosseum time, use the available earlier part of the day for the Forum-Palatine area only if your selected ticket and gate instructions allow that sequence. Then arrive at the Colosseum before the timed security window. If the ticket specifies a different order or entry gate, follow that instruction instead.
The Colosseum is at Piazza del Colosseo, 1, near Metro B Colosseo. Security is part of the timed visit: arrive before the selected window, keep the ticket details available, and allow extra time for the walk across uneven archaeological ground.
Official booking and date check
Use the official Colosseum ticketing service associated with colosseo.it and confirm the exact product name, date, timed Colosseum slot, archaeological-area entry instructions, and listed inclusions before payment. Not every product has the same release window.
Prices, release windows, closures, and inventory are variable. The Standard price of €18 and the access details in this guide were checked August 25, 2026. Recheck the official listing for your travel date, especially when selecting Full Experience, Arena, Underground, Attic, or Forum Pass SUPER products.
Reading the map without mixing up the sites
The Colosseum sits east of the Forum and Palatine. The Roman Forum and Palatine form the main connected archaeological visit. The Imperial Fora—Caesar, Augustus, and Trajan—are along Via dei Fori Imperiali and should be treated as a separate map layer unless your current route or pass explicitly provides interior access.
The Temple of Divus Julius is inside the Roman Forum and is covered by eligible Forum-Palatine admission. It is a memorial and posthumous cult site, not the place of Caesar’s assassination. The surviving Curia of Pompey context is associated with Largo Argentina, not the Forum of Caesar.
A low-confusion day plan
Keep the three core stops together on your map: Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. Check the ticket’s timed admission and current gate before setting out, then leave room for security and the archaeological area’s uneven or steep surfaces.
If you add the Imperial Fora, view them as a separate extension around Via dei Fori Imperiali. Street viewpoints for the Forum of Caesar, Forum of Augustus, and Forum of Trajan are free, while interior or archaeological access varies by the current route, event program, or eligible pass. Do not assume that a Colosseum ticket includes them.
