Bodleian Library: two Hogwarts interiors in one Oxford Place
The Bodleian Library is included because two nearby interiors perform two different Hogwarts functions. Duke Humfrey’s Library became the Hogwarts library, bringing the real medieval reading room into the school’s scholarly spaces. The Divinity School, next door, became the infirmary. Presenting them as one Place avoids duplicate pins while preserving the distinction between the scenes and the buildings that supplied them.
This is not simply another grand Oxford interior. Its value lies in the contrast between the library’s role as a place of study and the vaulted Divinity School’s role as a place of recovery. That split also helps separate the Bodleian from Christ Church: Christ Church contributes the Hall Staircase and architectural influence, whereas the Bodleian’s documented screen identity rests on these two interiors.
The Bodleian lists filming for the first, second and fourth films. Because the spaces have their own access conditions, the map should be used as a screen-location guide rather than a promise of entry at any particular time. Confirm current visiting arrangements with the linked Place before planning around either interior.
