Christ Church: the staircase before the Great Hall
Christ Church belongs here for its vaulted Hall Staircase, the real Oxford location used as pupils approach Hogwarts’ Great Hall. The staircase is the precise filmed element: it is not a general claim that every part of the college appears in the sequence. Its role is transitional, showing arrival and movement into the fictional school rather than supplying the principal interior in which the Great Hall scenes were made.
That distinction prevents one of the map’s most common identity mistakes. The college dining hall is widely associated with Harry Potter because it influenced the studio-built Great Hall design, but it should not be described as the main filmed Great Hall interior. The Place therefore represents both a verified filming location and a clearly labelled architectural influence, without merging those categories.
Compared with the Bodleian Library, Christ Church offers a route into Hogwarts rather than its library or infirmary. Compared with Alnwick Castle, it contributes an interior staircase rather than exterior baileys and courtyards. Access to the college can vary, so check current conditions with the linked Place before treating the staircase as an assured stop.
